Open Letter To Trump Supporters Who Approve of Border Separations

Dear Trump Supporters:
I have to admit. I don’t know any of you personally — at least I don’t think I do. I live in New York City, the biggest “sanctuary city” in the United States, a city where native son, Donald Trump, is deeply unpopular. If any of you ever crossed my path, you have chosen to keep quiet about your allegiance to the forty-fifth president.
However, I have interacted with you online. Sometimes you guys spew your invective in the comments section on left-leaning political/news sites. Sometimes you invite yourself onto a public Facebook page of a progressive political association and pick fights with the people who congregate there. But since the crisis of family separations at the US-Mexico border became front page news, I have had most of my interactions with you on Twitter.
I made it a point to not only defend fellow members of the #TheResistance from your abuse but also to engage you a little. Not necessarily to change your minds, but to get some insight into how you could justify removing children as young as three months old from their parents’ care in the name of fortifying our border.
